Dr Zofia Bednarz is a Lecturer at the Sydney Law School, University of Sydney, specializing in Commercial and Corporate Law with a focus on technology's impact on financial services and consumer protection. She joined the University in 2022 after roles at UNSW and the University of Málaga, where she taught commercial law in English and Spanish. Her research explores AI in finance, blockchain governance, and consumer data rights. She is an Associate Investigator at the ARC Centre of Excellence for Automated Decision-Making and Society (ADM+S).
Education: LLM from Warsaw University, MA/PhD from the University of Málaga.
Research Interests: Law and Technology, Financial Services Law, Consumer Law, AI Governance, Blockchain Applications in Corporate Law.
Recent Work: Her 2023 book Money, Power and AI examines AI-driven financial systems. Articles address behavioral insurance, non-personal data impacts, and blockchain in shareholder voting. She contributed to submissions on AI regulation and Privacy Act reforms.
Grants: Part of the ARC-funded ADM+S Centre (2020).
