Zita Stone is a Senior Lecturer in Management at the University of Kent's Kent Business School. She holds a Senior Fellowship from the Higher Education Academy and is a member of professional bodies including the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), Academy of International Business (AIB), and European and International Business Academy (EIBA). As Associate Dean of Graduate Studies, she oversees strategic initiatives involving external stakeholders and collaborates with accreditation bodies like AACSB and AMBA.
Zita specializes in strategic management, international business, and SME internationalization. Her research explores post-Brexit/Covid-19 challenges for SMEs, institutional environments, and innovative educational practices. She has led projects such as the Kent SME Internationalisation Study and contributed to the university's triple accreditation (AACSB, EQUIS, MBA).
In teaching, Zita employs research-led pedagogy across diverse modes (face-to-face, online, blended) and has taught globally in the UK, USA, China, France, Czech Republic, and Slovakia. Her supervision includes PhD students researching SME decision-making and FDI in Africa. Professional roles include external examining for three UK institutions and leadership of teams managing learning and teaching strategies.
Zita actively bridges academia and industry through partnerships with Kent Council, Advance HE, and CMI. Her work emphasizes EDI agendas, staff development, and student experience enhancement in higher education.
