Dr. Zilfina Rubio Ames is an Assistant Professor and Small Fruit Extension Specialist in the Department of Horticulture at the University of Georgia's College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. Based at the Tifton campus, her work focuses on improving berry production systems through physiological research and extension programs. Her appointment distribution includes 20% research, 75% extension, and 5% service activities.
Her research examines whole plant physiology, nutrient management, and cultural practices in blueberries and small fruits, with emphasis on optimizing yield and postharvest quality.
