Dario Chavez is an Associate Professor in the Horticulture department at the University of Georgia's College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. His research focuses on peach and citrus breeding through the Institute of Plant Breeding, Genetics and Genomics (IPBGG) and Institute for Integrative Precision Agriculture. With 75% research, 20% extension, and 5% service appointments, Dr. Chavez develops cultivars with improved traits for Southeast US production.
