Zhou Xiaodong

Assoc Prof Zhou Xiaodong is the Head of Audio Arts & Sciences and founding Recording Studio Manager at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, NUS. He has engineered over 400 live concerts and studio sessions with renowned musicians and orchestras, including the Singapore Symphony Orchestra. His work spans recording for labels like Decca and Ablaze, with multiple award-winning albums. He also serves as audio production director for major events like the Singapore National Day Concert and engineered the Singapore national anthem in 2019.

Education: M.A. in Audio Science and Acoustics from the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University.

Research Interests: Specializes in audio engineering, music production technology, and acoustic design. His expertise includes studio design, live sound engineering, and classical music recording techniques. He authored The Recording Engineer’s Handbook (in Chinese) and is a member of the AES and Singapore Acoustics Society.
