Zhimin Guan

Zhimin Guan is Professor of Art at Minnesota State University Moorhead, specializing in painting and drawing. His artistic practice spans figurative and abstract traditions, developed through series including Fossil Series, Landscape Series, and Summit Series. He exhibits internationally with shows at China National Art Gallery, Singapore Asian Artist Gallery, and Plains Art Museum.

His current Summit Series explores Yin-Yang dynamics through abstract landscapes using gestural marks and fluid materials. Pedagogically, he integrates technical foundations with experimental approaches across undergraduate and graduate art curricula.

Honors include the McKnight Fellowship and residencies at Blue Roof Gallery in Chengdu. His works are held in permanent collections at Microsoft, Plains Art Museum, and DanTang Art Museum.
