Zhihui Ye is a Senior Lecturer in the Division of Civil and Building Services Engineering at London South Bank University's School of Built Environment and Architecture. He holds a PhD in Built and Environment (2006), an MSc in Energy Management, and a BEng in Heating, Ventilation, and Air-Conditioning Engineering. His research focuses on energy systems, indoor environmental quality, building operational performance, moisture transfer in structures, and innovative monitoring technologies.
Ye has led EPSRC-funded projects and developed a thermal-dual probe for in-situ moisture measurement in building materials, earning a Carter Bronze Medal from CIBSE. He currently leads the life cycle cost analysis in the EU-funded 'Circular Economy for the Data Centre Industry' project, collaborating with 17 European partners. He serves as a reviewer for the CIBSE Technical Symposium and the Journal of Mechanical Engineering Science.
His teaching roles include course leadership for HND Building Services Engineering and HNC Building Services Engineering Apprenticeship programs. Research outputs span wind energy systems, smart building technologies, and structural monitoring, with recent work emphasizing sustainable solutions and energy efficiency in buildings.
