Zhenzhen Yan

Dr. Zhenzhen Yan is a Research Fellow in Soil Biogeochemistry at Griffith University's School of Environment and Science (Department of Chemistry and Forensic Science), affiliated with the Australian Rivers Institute. Her work focuses on soil microbiology, environmental antimicrobial resistance, and agricultural sustainability. She leads a CRC-funded project on organic-based nitrogen fertilizers (PJA 3.1.009) and previously held a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at the Hawkesbury Institute for the Environment (2022–2024).

Research Interests: Dr. Yan investigates soil microbial communities, antibiotic resistance dynamics, and plant-microbe interactions. Her work integrates soil health, One Health policy, and sustainable agriculture to address environmental and public health challenges. Key areas include microbial responses to aridity, phyllosphere pathogens, and industrial impacts on urban green space microbiomes.

Grants/Projects: Current CRC Project (PJA 3.1.009) aims to evaluate organic fertilizers' effects on crop productivity and soil health.
