معرفی
Distinguished Professor Zhengyi Jiang is a leading academic at the University of Wollongong's School of Mechanical, Materials, Mechatronic and Biomedical Engineering. He holds a PhD from Northeastern University, Shenyang, China (1993–1996). His research focuses on advanced manufacturing, composite materials, tribology, and metal forming processes, with a strong emphasis on industrial applications in mining, automotive, and biomedical sectors. Key collaborations include the Baosteel-Australia Joint Research and Development Centre (BAJC) and the ARC Industrial Transformation Training Centre for Innovative Composites.
Professor Jiang has attracted over $28 million in funding, including $18 million from competitive grants and $10 million from industry. His group, the Rolling Mechanics Group, includes 14 academic staff and 15 HDR students. Notable achievements include developing bimetal wear-resistant steel plates, self-lubricating composites, and lightweight roll-bonded clad steels. He has received over 45 awards, including the 2024 New Gold Owl Honorary Award and the 2016 Vice-Chancellor’s Research Excellence Award.
His teaching roles include coordinating advanced manufacturing subjects and supervising over 80 HDR students, many of whom have secured senior academic and industry roles. Current research spans composite fabrication, nanolubricants, and digital twin technologies for fault diagnosis. He chairs international conferences and serves on editorial boards of journals like the International Journal of Extreme Manufacturing.
