Dr. Lihong Su is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Wollongong's School of Mechanical, Materials, Mechatronic and Biomedical Engineering. She holds a PhD from the University of Wollongong and has been recognized with prestigious awards including the JSPS Fellowship and DECRA Fellowship. Her research focuses on advanced manufacturing processes, metallic materials processing, and tribology, with expertise in rolling techniques, high-entropy alloys, and surface engineering.
Dr. Su has published over 80 peer-reviewed papers and delivered numerous invited talks. Her work spans nanostructured materials, tribological performance optimization, and energy applications. She currently supervises multiple PhD and Master’s projects on topics like composite fabrication and wear-resistant alloys.
Her research is supported by grants from the Australian Research Council and industry partnerships. Key projects include pipeline welding integrity, machine learning in manufacturing, and additive manufacturing of aerospace materials. Dr. Su collaborates widely, contributing to international conferences and interdisciplinary teams.
