Ying (Maggie) Zhang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Systems and Analytics at Santa Clara University's Leavey School of Business. She holds a Ph.D. in Operations from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Bachelor's in Industrial Engineering from Tsinghua University.
Her research focuses on socially responsible operations, sustainable agriculture, and DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) in operations. Key projects include optimizing crop yields through scientific farming methods and analyzing disability diversity's impact on productivity in apparel manufacturing. Her work bridges operational excellence with societal welfare.
Dr. Zhang's research has been published in top journals like Manufacturing & Service Operations Management and Journal of Operations Management. She received an Honorable Mention in the JOM 2021 Jack Meredith Best Paper Award for her contributions.
