Professor Zhang Xudong holds a joint appointment as a Professor in the Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering and Affiliated Faculty in Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M University. His research focuses on musculoskeletal biomechanics, human-machine systems design, and digital human modeling. He has been recognized with prestigious awards including the IEEE Human-Machine Systems Keynote (2021) and Liollio Family Fellow (2017).
Dr. Zhang earned his Ph.D. in Industrial & Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan in 1997. His work integrates biomechanical modeling, robotics, and clinical applications to improve musculoskeletal health outcomes.
His research interests span multi-scale musculoskeletal modeling, prosthetic design, and wearable technologies. Recent publications emphasize lumbar spine mechanics and dynamic motion analysis using advanced imaging techniques.
