Dr. Zeynep Bulut serves as a Lecturer in Music at SARC (Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Sound and Music) at Queen's University Belfast, where her research centers on voice and sound theory with emphasis on embodiment, mediation, and voice-as-skin frameworks.
Her research interests encompass:
- Theoretical exploration of voice as sonic surface and skin
- Intersections of sound art with bodily experience
- Arts-based health and environmental interventions
- Deep Listening practice and vocal performance
- Sound mediation in digital and physical spaces
She leads the ESRC-funded research platform "Music, Arts, Health, and Environment," investigating creative practices in wellness and ecological contexts. Her artistic practice includes sound installations, vocal compositions for theater/video, and two released musical singles, with recognition from the British Music Collection.
