Zerrin Yetkin

Zerrin Yetkin, M.D., is an Assistant Professor of Radiology at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of its Neuroradiology Division. She specializes in high-end imaging techniques, notably functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) and resting-state fMRI, and played a pivotal role in pioneering these methods at the Medical College of Wisconsin before joining UT Southwestern in 2000 to establish advanced imaging protocols.

Dr. Yetkin’s research focuses on the clinical application of resting-state fMRI and using fMRI to assess memory dominance. Her work spans neurological conditions like epilepsy, Alzheimer’s disease, and multiple sclerosis, emphasizing functional brain mapping and MRI-based diagnostic innovation.

Her publications highlight trends in functional MRI for epilepsy (ictal patterns, language reorganization), Alzheimer’s disease (working memory, mild cognitive impairment), and technical advancements in auditory cortex imaging and spinal cord injury modeling. She actively contributes to professional societies including the American Society of Neuroradiology, International Society for MR in Medicine, and Society for Neuroscience.
