Korgun Koral, M.D., is a Professor of Radiology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and Director of Pediatric Neuroradiology at Children's Health. He previously served as Professor of Radiology at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra University (2014–2020) and held academic roles at UT Southwestern since 2002, advancing from Assistant to Professor. His expertise spans pediatric radiology, neuroradiology, and MRI techniques, with a focus on neurological and pediatric imaging challenges.
Education: M.D. from Hacettepe University (Ankara, Turkey), radiology residency at Ankara University Medical School, and fellowships in pediatric radiology (UCLA), pediatric vascular/interventional radiology (Northwestern University), and diagnostic neuroradiology (UCLA).
Research interests include pediatric MRI advancements, neuroimaging of infectious diseases (e.g., Neuro-COVID), and imaging of pediatric tumors. He has published over 65 peer-reviewed articles and contributed to 14 textbooks. His work emphasizes minimizing radiation exposure in pediatric imaging and applying 3D printing for surgical planning.
Professional memberships include the Radiological Society of North America, American Society of Pediatric Neuroradiology, and Turkish Medical Imaging Society. He actively participates in global conferences and serves as a lecturer in radiology and pediatric imaging.
