Zenan Chen is an Assistant Professor in the Information Systems department at the Naveen Jindal School of Management, University of Texas at Dallas. He holds a Ph.D. in Information Systems from the University of Minnesota and a B.A. in Economics from CUHK, Shenzhen.

His research focuses on the design and use of emerging technologies, including the impact of technological tools on individual work outcomes, societal effects of AI, and digital platform design. He employs methods like field experiments, causal inference, machine learning, and analytical modeling.
His publications include studies on Large Language Models (LLMs) in creative work and digital platform revenue-sharing strategies. These works explore human-AI collaboration modalities, anchoring effects in ghostwriting, and platform ecosystem coordination.

As a self-taught full-stack developer, he has built technical tools including ChatGPT Quick Actions for Raycast, Canvas Tools for LMS, and Nosedive (Black Mirror parody website).
