Dr Zelia Gallo is a Senior Lecturer in Criminal Law and Criminology at the Dickson Poon School of Law, King's College London. Her research focuses on the sociology of punishment, political economy's role in penal systems, and comparative criminal justice. She holds a BA from Oxford University and advanced degrees from LSE, where she was a Research Fellow (2013-2015). Dr Gallo has received teaching awards from LSE and KCL, and her work explores Italian and Western European penal landscapes, emphasizing austerity impacts and immigration criminalization.
