Zeimpekis Vasileios

Dr. Vasileios Zeimpekis is an Associate Professor at the Department of Financial and Management Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of the Aegean. He serves as Director of the DeOPSys research lab and is a member of the National Committee for Development and Competitiveness in Logistics. Additionally, he acts as a consultant on transport issues to the United Nations (UNECE) and the World Bank, and previously held leadership roles on the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Logistics Company (EEL).

• BEng(Hons) in Electronic and Computer Engineering from the University of Essex (UK)
• MSc in Mobile & Satellite Communications from the University of Surrey (UK)
• MSc in Engineering Business Management from the University of Warwick (UK)
• PhD from the Department of Management Science and Technology at Athens University of Economics and Business (GR)

Dr. Zeimpekis is actively engaged in research focusing on supply chain management, logistics, information systems, and sustainable transportation. His work bridges engineering and business administration, with a strong emphasis on practical applications in industrial and research projects.

He has been recognized for his contributions, including being selected as a key figure in shaping global road transport by the International Road Transport Union (IRU) in 2024. Dr. Zeimpekis has also participated in the Green Freight Europe Initiative through his lab.
