Konstantinos G. Zografos

Konstantinos G. Zografos serves as Professor and Chairman of the Department of Management Science and Technology at the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB), while also directing the Transportation Systems and Logistics Laboratory (TRANSLOG) and coordinating the Transportation and Logistics Specialization within AUEB's MBA International Program. His prior academic appointments include faculty positions at the University of Miami, National Technical University of Athens, and University of Patras.

His research integrates Operations Research and Information Systems methodologies to solve complex challenges in Transportation Systems and Logistics. Key focus areas include Optimization of Logistical Decisions, Fleet Management, Vehicle Routing and Scheduling, Supply Chain Performance Assessment, Incident Management, Emergency Response Logistics, Airport Planning and Operations, Transportation of Hazardous Materials, Transportation Policy, Pricing Strategies, Risk Assessment, and Project Evaluation.

Professor Zografos has received multiple distinguished honors:

• ENO Foundation for Transportation award (1986)
• Excellence in Teaching Award for 2003-2004 (MBA International Programme, AUEB)
• Franz Edelman Finalist Award (2005, INFORMS)
• President's Medal Award (2005, British Operational Research Society)

He has secured over 60 research grants as principal investigator from the European Commission (DG TREN, DG INFSO, DG RESEARCH), Greek Secretariat for Science and Technology, Ministry of Transport, Civil Aviation Authority, and Ministry of Environment. His consultancy portfolio spans governmental agencies, corporations, and international organizations across North America, Europe, and Greece.

As Director of TRANSLOG, he leads advanced research in transportation modeling and logistics optimization. He maintains active leadership roles in TRB Committee on Freight Transportation Planning and Logistics (AT015), Transportation and Development Institute’s Advanced Technology Committee, and serves on the editorial boards of Transportation Research – Part C and other prominent journals.
