Zayn Ghonem (also published as Zeyad Mahmoud) is an Honorary Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Macquarie University's Australian Institute of Health Innovation (AIHI), specializing in healthcare systems improvement. He holds PhDs in Management and Business Administration (University of Nantes, 2020) and Medicine (Macquarie University, 2020), alongside a Master of Research in Health Management. His honorary appointments span Macquarie University, the University of Nantes, and the University of New Caledonia.
Teaching and Research: He has taught courses in healthcare management, systems thinking, epidemiology, and organizational theory across multiple universities. His research focuses on health services management, operating theatres optimization, organizational resilience, and lean management. Notable projects include the 'Hospital Management in the Anthropocene' study and case studies on Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs).
