Zara Albright is a political scientist currently serving as a Postdoctoral Research Associate and Lecturer in the Program in Latin American Studies at Princeton University. She also holds the 2025-2026 Hans J. Morgenthau Fellowship at the Notre Dame International Security Center. Her academic journey includes a Ph.D. in Political Science from Boston University completed in Summer 2025.

Albright's research lies at the intersection of international relations and comparative politics, with a focus on great power competition and global development. She specifically examines the political, diplomatic, and economic connections between Latin America and China, contributing to literature on smaller states' agency within the international system. Her methodological approach combines qualitative case studies, semi-structured interviews, process tracing, text analysis, and statistical methods. At Princeton, she is developing her book project, 'Beyond the Great Powers: How South American States Are Navigating US-China Competition in the 21st Century,' which analyzes the domestic political foundations of Argentina, Chile, and Ecuador's foreign policy strategies.

Prior to graduate school, Albright researched economic development policies for the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean in Santiago, Chile, and conducted fieldwork on global development in Uruguay and Argentina.
