Dr. Zafrira Lidovsky Cohen is a Professor of Hebrew and Chair of Hebrew at Stern College for Women, Yeshiva University. She also serves as Director of Hebrew Language and Literature, contributing extensively to Hebrew education and scholarship.

Her research focuses on teaching Hebrew as a second language and analyzing Hebrew literary texts in their original form for non-native speakers. She is currently exploring the works of forgotten poets from the Second Aliyah period (1904–1914), shedding light on their cultural and literary contributions.
Dr. Cohen has authored a scholarly book on Israeli poet Yona Wallach’s poetry and poetics, and published articles on themes in early Zionist pioneer poetry and Alona Kimhi’s fiction. Her pedagogical approach emphasizes linguistic accessibility and cultural context for Hebrew learners.
