Ganit Mayer is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Hebrew at New York University, with prior teaching roles at Middlebury and Stern Colleges and Israeli Ulpanim. She combines her expertise in law and social psychology into interdisciplinary research and pedagogy.
- LL.B in Law and History from Hebrew University of Jerusalem
- M.A. in Social Psychology from Tel Aviv University
Her research focuses on modern Hebrew literature, second language acquisition, and the intersection of legal language with cultural studies. She has pioneered the use of Poetry Slam and Spoken Word in Hebrew classrooms to enhance cultural engagement, while her earlier work applied computational tools to analyze psychological distance in legal texts.
Mayer's teaching methodology emphasizes active dialogue, flipped classrooms, and cultural immersion through Israeli music, film, and interviews with artists. She is currently a member of the Pedagogy Conference Committee for the National Association of Professors of Hebrew (NAPH) since 2022.
