Professor Zachary Munn is an NHMRC Ext-Funded Research Fellow E at the University of Adelaide's School of Public Health within the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences. He serves as the founding Director of Health Evidence Synthesis, Recommendations and Impact (HESRI), Head of the Evidence Synthesis Taxonomy Initiative (ESTI), and Founding Director of the Adelaide GRADE Centre. As an NHMRC Investigator, he is eligible to supervise Masters and PhD students.
Professor Munn earned his PhD focusing on using participatory methods to implement evidence-based recommendations in practice. His research career centers on ensuring evidence is trustworthy through advancements in systematic review methods, guidelines development, and implementation science. He has been involved in dozens of systematic reviews, clinical guidelines, evidence implementation projects, and health services research initiatives.
His scholarly output includes hundreds of peer-reviewed publications across evidence-based healthcare domains. His work spans systematic reviews methodology, clinical practice guideline development, evidence implementation frameworks, and knowledge translation strategies. Professor Munn has developed specialized expertise in conducting systematic reviews of prevalence/incidence, interventions, and scoping reviews, while also addressing issues like predatory publishing practices.

Professor Munn has secured research funding from diverse sources including UK Department for International Development, National Health and Medical Research Council, World Health Organisation, Sax Institute, HCF Health and Medical Research Foundation, and numerous other health organizations. His implementation science work has resulted in direct healthcare practice improvements, particularly in low-resource and LMIC settings. He serves on editorial boards for JBI Evidence Implementation and BMC Medical Research Methodology, and advises international health organizations across multiple countries.
