Edoardo Aromataris

Edoardo Aromataris is Associate Professor at the University of Adelaide's School of Public Health and Director of Synthesis Science at JBI. His research focuses on developing methodologies for evidence synthesis to improve healthcare practice and policy decisions through rigorous systematic reviews.

As founding Editor-in-Chief of JBI Evidence Synthesis, he established a leading journal for evidence syntheses. His methodological innovations include contributions to the JBI Manual for Evidence Synthesis and development of frameworks for diverse synthesis types including umbrella reviews and scoping reviews.

Research interests center on enhancing the rigor, reporting, and applicability of systematic reviews in healthcare. Recent publications focus on methodological advancements in evidence synthesis, addressing challenges like language barriers in reviews, detection of fraudulent data, and applications of GRADE methodology.

He leads research collaborations with government and non-government organizations including Cancer Australia, National Heart Foundation, and Queensland Health to translate evidence into policy and practice.

His work supports evidence-based decision-making through projects funded by NHMRC, HCF Medical Research Foundation, and the Stillbirth Foundation of Australia.
