Dr. Zachary A. Casey is an Associate Professor of Educational Studies at Rhodes College in Memphis, TN, USA. Since joining the faculty in 2014 and earning tenure in 2020, he has become a leading scholar in critical whiteness studies, anticapitalism, and antiracist pedagogy. His research examines how white racial identity and neoliberal capitalism intersect in educational systems to perpetuate systemic racism.

His scholarship appears in over 40 peer-reviewed publications, with recent focus on topics like settler colonialism, hyperindividualism, and the paradoxes of white allyship. Dr. Casey's research has been recognized with multiple awards, including the 2022 Clarence Day Award for Outstanding Faculty Research and the 2018 Society of Professors of Education's Outstanding Book Award. He actively collaborates with educators nationwide to implement antiracist professional development programs like 'RaceWork' and advocates for pedagogies that center justice over tokenistic reforms.
