ZHANG Yining is a Lecturer in the Pure Mathematics department at the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), within the Science, Mathematics and Technology (SMT) cluster. Previously, he served as a Research Fellow in SUTD's Information Systems Technology and Design (ISTD) pillar and a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Colorado Boulder. He earned his Ph.D. in Mathematics from Indiana University Bloomington in 2019, supervised by Ajay C. Ramadoss.
His research focuses on homological algebra, homotopical algebra, noncommutative geometry, and their applications to derived algebraic geometry, string topology, and artificial intelligence. He explores Hochschild and cyclic homology, connecting these concepts to broader mathematical frameworks and interdisciplinary applications.
Zhang’s publications include studies on Hodge decomposition in string topology, cyclic pairings in derived Poisson structures, and dual Hodge decompositions in algebraic geometry. His work bridges abstract algebraic structures with topological and geometric insights.
