Ludmil Katzarkov is a Professor at the University of Miami, affiliated with the College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Mathematics, and serves as Executive Director of the Institute of Mathematical Sciences of the Americas. His research spans algebraic and symplectic geometry, with a focus on homological mirror symmetry and derived categories.
Recent work includes studies on Hodge polynomials for non-Kähler manifolds, shifted symplectic structures on derived Quot-schemes, and categorical approaches to discriminants. He explores connections between toric geometry, Lie groupoids, and non-Archimedean geometry, as well as derived equivalences in Kleinian singularities and birational invariants via Gromov-Witten theory.
His publications highlight interdisciplinary applications in mathematics and physics, bridging algebraic topology, noncommutative geometry, and topological modular forms. Collaborations include Dennis Borisov, Ernesto Lupercio, and Artan Sheshmani, among others.
