Yvonne Förster

Dr. Yvonne Förster is an Adjunct Professor at Leuphana University Lüneburg's Faculty of Cultural Sciences and a Senior Research Fellow at institutions including the Global Center for Advanced Studies (Dublin) and Universities of Konstanz and Kassel. She holds a PhD from Friedrich Schiller University Jena (summa cum laude) and completed her habilitation in 2016.

Her research bridges philosophy of technology, critical posthumanism, and fashion theory, exploring human-machine relations, digital embodiment, and AI ethics. She investigates how technologies reshape identity, gender, and sensory experience through digital fashion, virtual realities, and imaging techniques in neuroscience.

Recent publications (2022-2023) analyze posthuman futures, AI aesthetics, and pandemic-era technological rituals. She has secured significant research grants from the German Research Association (DFG) for studies on media cultures and cultural sciences.
