Yves-Marie Abraham is an Associate Professor at HEC Montréal's Department of Management, specializing in Organizational Theory, Economic Anthropology, and Sustainable Degrowth. He holds a DEA in Sociology from the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales, Paris, and a PhD in Management Sciences from HEC Paris. His research focuses on socio-ecological transitions, post-growth economics, and critical analyses of capitalism and environmental policy.
His teaching includes courses like La décroissance soutenable : théorie et pratiques and Campus buissonnier - Évaluer un projet d'innovation sociale. He has supervised over 30 Master’s theses and 2 PhDs since 2019, addressing topics such as degrowth in healthcare systems, time reduction in labor, and ecological inequality.
Abraham’s publications span degrowth theory, commons-based alternatives, and socio-environmental case studies.
