Yves Figueiredo is a Lecturer at Université Paris Cité (2023–present) specializing in US Environmental History. He previously taught at Sorbonne University (2006–2023) and held academic positions at the University of California, Berkeley (1999–2001) and Rhodes College, Tennessee (1995). His research focuses on the transatlantic park movement, environmental policy intersections, and urbanization processes in the Americas.

His scholarly work analyzes how ecological thinking evolved from monumentalism in California (1864–1916). As co-director of the Powers Axis at LARCA (UMR 8225), he supervises research on US Environmental History, American West Development, and 19th-20th Century Urban History. His methodological approach combines historical geography, policy analysis, and biomedical humanities perspectives.
