Yuxuan Chua is a PhD candidate at the University of Warwick, affiliated with the School of Politics and International Studies (PAIS). Her research focuses on the interplay of normative values, material/social constraints, and climate action, particularly examining how urban geography, economy, and political identity shape public discourse. Supervised by Dr. Philippe Blanchard (PAIS) and Dr. Kavin Narasimhan (CIM), her work integrates computational approaches and digital ethnography into mixed-methods analysis.
Yuxuan holds an MSc in Social Research from Birkbeck College, University of London, where her dissertation explored online political discourse on Twitter regarding speed limit policies. She also earned a BSc in International Relations from the University of London.
Her research interests include climate skepticism, democratic theory in the global North, and the role of social media in contemporary political discourse. She investigates how structural and ideological factors constrain effective climate action, emphasizing interdisciplinary methodologies to bridge theoretical and empirical gaps.
