Yuxia Xie is a Research Fellow in the Department of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics at Duke University, collaborating with Dr. Jichun Xie. Her work focuses on developing computational methodologies for genomic data analysis within the Division of Integrative Genomics.
Educational background:

Her research integrates machine learning, deep learning, and bioinformatics to address challenges in biological data analysis, with emphasis on rare variant detection in genomic sequences. She develops algorithms for pinpointing disease-associated subregions in complex datasets, leveraging statistical modeling and neural network architectures.
Currently leads a National Human Genome Research Institute-funded project (2022-2026) developing computational methods to dynamically identify subregions carrying disease-associated rare variants. Her work bridges computer science and biomedical research through innovative algorithmic solutions for genomic applications.
