Yusheng Luo is an Assistant Professor at Cornell University, affiliated with the Department of Mathematics in the College of Arts and Sciences. Previously, he held positions as a Milnor Lecturer at the Institute for Mathematical Sciences, Stony Brook University, and a Postdoc Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He earned his Ph.D. from Harvard University in 2019 under the guidance of Curtis McMullen.
Education:
- Ph.D. in Mathematics, Harvard University (2019)
- Advisor: Curtis T. McMullen
Research Interests: His research focuses on dynamics and geometry, particularly the dynamics of rational maps on the Riemann sphere, moduli spaces, and their interconnections with Kleinian groups, hyperbolic geometry, Teichmüller theory, and Berkovich dynamics. Key themes include geometric finiteness, degenerations, and applications of barycentric extensions and non-Archimedean techniques.
