Inna Zakharevich is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Cornell University, affiliated with the College of Arts and Sciences. Her research focuses on formalizing geometric cutting-and-pasting problems using methods from algebraic topology and algebraic K-theory. She holds a Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (2012).
Education:
- Ph.D. in Mathematics (2012), Massachusetts Institute of Technology
Research Interests: Algebraic topology, algebraic K-theory, scissors congruence, Grothendieck ring of varieties. She develops algebraic models to study geometric problems, translating combinatorial aspects into topological spaces to derive invariants.
Selected Publications: Her work includes studies on the Lefschetz motive, K₁ of assemblers, and perspectives on scissors congruence, published in Duke Math. J., Adv. in Math., and Bull. Amer. Math. Soc.
Courses Taught: Includes MATH 6510: Algebraic Topology, MATH 6530: K-Theory and Characteristic Classes, and supervised research/reading courses (4900/4901).
