Yuriko Kirilovna Sosa Paredes is a Doctoral Research Fellow at the University of Oslo's Centre for Educational Measurement (CEMO). She specializes in educational measurement and statistical modeling, focusing on latent variable models, Rasch modeling, equating, and cognitive diagnostic models. Her work emphasizes reproducible research using open-source tools like R and Python. Previously, she served as a psychometric coordinator at Peru's Ministry of Education, contributing to large-scale educational assessments. She holds a B.Sc. in Statistics and Computer Science from the National Agrarian University La Molina and an M.Sc. in Statistics from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru.
Teaching responsibilities include courses such as MAE4011 (Principles of Measurement), MAE4050 (Current Topics in Assessment), and MAE4120 (Item Response Theory). Her research addresses educational equity, cross-cultural comparisons in science education, and longitudinal trends in student achievement. She contributes to the Frontier Research in Educational Measurement (FREMO) group and leads a PhD project investigating gender disparities in science education using 50 years of international data. Additional projects explore fairness in educational attainment measures in Norway.
