Yunjing LI (Jennifer) is a Research Fellow at the Lee Kuan Yew Centre for Innovative Cities (LKYCIC), Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). Her research focuses on urban sustainability policy, climate planning, and urban development politics. Previously, she held post-doctoral positions at the University of Hong Kong’s Geography Department and worked with the UN Population Fund and UN-Habitat. She earned her Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Urban Planning from Columbia University (2019, 2010) and a Bachelor of Architecture from Tsinghua University (2008).
Her work bridges policy analysis and urban theory, emphasizing low-carbon transitions in Chinese cities and climate resilience strategies. Recent projects include studies on green megaprojects, low-carbon urban governance, and climate action in Singapore. Her research has been published in leading journals like Journal of Planning Education and Research and Environment and Planning C.
Yunjing collaborates on initiatives such as the Urban Environmental Sustainability programme and projects addressing climate resilience in Singapore. Her interdisciplinary approach integrates urban politics, environmental policy, and global development frameworks.
