Yulia Musayelyan is an Assistant Professor in the Ear Training Department at Berklee College of Music. She is a versatile flutist and composer born in Moscow, Russia, with a career spanning classical, jazz, funk, Armenian folk, Latin jazz, Brazilian, and Argentinean folk music.

Musayelyan emphasizes ear training as a critical tool for musicians, fostering adaptability and curiosity in performance and composition. She leads the Yulia Musayelyan Quartet, co-leads the Macayú Trio, and has performed with ensembles like the Fernando Huergo Quintet and Manhattan Camerata. Her chamber works were featured in the 2006 film Natalie Bonn, and she released her debut album Caminos in 2009.
Awards: Notable recognition includes contributing to Latin Grammy-winning artist Marta Gomez's album Este Instante. She has recorded over 25 albums as a sideman and toured globally across the U.S., U.K., Europe, and the Americas.
As an educator, Musayelyan specializes in equipping students with transcription skills, chart-making techniques, and performance/compositional decision-making tools. She is currently an Assistant Chair at Berklee and maintains an active performance schedule while collaborating with diverse musical projects.
