Yuko Matsubara is a Lecturer in Chinese and Japanese at Vassar College, where she has taught courses ranging from elementary Japanese (JAPA 205) to advanced Japanese (JAPA 350) since joining in 2000. She holds a BA in English Language and Literature from Reitaku University, a BA in English Language Teaching from the University of Stirling, and an MA in Second Language Teaching from SUNY New Paltz.

She has been instrumental in teaching a spectrum of Japanese language courses at Vassar, contributing to the Department of Chinese and Japanese within the Asian Studies program.
