Wenwei Du is an Associate Professor of Chinese and Japanese at Vassar College, affiliated with Asian Studies and Media Studies programs. He has been at Vassar since 1994 and teaches courses in Chinese language, literature, and culture. His research focuses on Chinese drama, theatre, film, and popular culture.
Education:
- BA, Fudan University (复旦大学)
- MA and PhD in Comparative Literature and Chinese, Washington University in St. Louis
Research Interests:
Dr. Du’s work explores intersections of traditional and contemporary Chinese performing arts, cultural representation, and media studies. His expertise spans dramatic texts, theatrical performance analysis, and the evolution of film and pop culture in China.
