Yujong Hwang is a Professor & Ezerski Endowed Fellow at DePaul University’s Driehaus College of Business, affiliated with the School of Accountancy & MIS. He serves as Director of the MIS program and Coordinator of Business Technology courses.
- PhD in Business (MIS and Accounting), University of South Carolina
- MBA and BS from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, South Korea
His research spans Human AI Interaction, Electronic Commerce, Accounting Information Systems, Business Technology, and Data Mining & Analytics. He has published over 90 journal articles, with notable citations (10,000+ Google Scholar, H-index 45) and recognition in bibliometric rankings (Top 5 in AI and digital financial inclusion, Top 150 MIS scholars, Top 1,000 computer science researchers).
He has received prestigious awards including DePaul’s Spirit of Inquiry Award (2025), College Outstanding Researcher of the Year, and School Excellence in Research. He has secured grants such as the College Summer Research Grants (13 times), international research grants from the UAE, Brazil, and South Korea, and teaching grants from the Quality of Instruction Council (QIC).
He has held editorial roles as Distinguished (Senior) Associate Editor of the European Journal of Information Systems and Associate Editor of Electronic Commerce Research & Applications and Journal of Electronic Commerce Research. He is also an Association for Information Systems (AIS) Distinguished Member – Cum Laude.
