Yuepeng Dong is an Associate Professor in Computational Geotechnics at DTU Sustain, Technical University of Denmark. He specializes in advanced finite element analysis of soils and structures, with expertise in geotechnical engineering, constitutive modeling of geomaterials, and underground construction processes. His work focuses on resilient infrastructure and energy geotechnics for sustainable development. He holds a DPhil in Engineering Science from the University of Oxford and a BEng in Civil Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
Education:
- DPhil in Engineering Science (2010–2014), University of Oxford
- BEng in Civil Engineering (2003–2007), Shanghai Jiao Tong University
Research interests include computational geotechnics, smart infrastructure, and the integration of complex constitutive models into finite element frameworks. His recent work addresses challenges in deep excavations, diaphragm wall construction, and ground improvement techniques like deep soil mixing and jet grouting. Collaborations with institutions such as MIT and National University of Singapore highlight his international engagement.
Advising and grants: Open to supervising Master/PhD students in geotechnical engineering. Active in consultancy and collaborative projects focused on sustainable infrastructure solutions.
Labs/Teams: Affiliated with DTU Sustain’s research groups in geological and geotechnical sensing, energy geotechnics, and smart infrastructure systems.
