Dr. Yue Zhuo is an Adjunct Instructor in the Department of World Languages at Calvin University. As a fourth-generation educator, she has over a decade of teaching experience, having started as an English as a Foreign Language (EFL) instructor in China before transitioning to teaching Chinese language and culture at Calvin University.
- Education: B.A. in English Education from Guizhou Normal University, M.A. in Mass Communication from University of Leicester, and Ph.D. in Literacy, Culture, and Language from Oakland University.
Her research and teaching interests focus on language pedagogy for ESL and CFL, pragmatic and strategic aspects of Chinese language learning, and the role of Chinese calligraphy in cultural literacy. She actively integrates cultural demonstrations, such as Chinese calligraphy, into her teaching and public outreach.
