Yue Zhuo

Dr. Yue (Angela) Zhuo is a Professor in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at St. John's University's St. John's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. She holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from SUNY Albany, an M.A. in Economics from Nankai University, and a dual B.A./LL.B. in English and Law from Tianjin University. Her interdisciplinary research focuses on crime and law, substance abuse, juvenile delinquency, and family dynamics, integrating legal, economic, and clinical psychology perspectives. She is an editorial board member for multiple journals, including British Journal of Criminology and Asian Journal of Criminology, and affiliated with institutions such as the University of Macau and NYU's U.S.-Asia Law Institute.

Her work explores global criminal justice issues, with recent studies on public attitudes toward criminal justice errors, mental health during the pandemic, and China’s crime control policies. She has been interviewed by media like World Journal and contributes to policy discussions on drug rehabilitation and civil dispute resolution in China. Dr. Zhuo’s research bridges theoretical frameworks with practical applications, emphasizing quantitative methodologies and cross-cultural comparisons.
