Yuanjing Li is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Swedish School of Sport and Health Sciences (GIH), Department of Physical Activity and Health. She holds a PhD from Karolinska Institutet (2019–2023) and a Medical Doctor degree from Shandong University (2011–2016). Her research focuses on behavioral, metabolic, and environmental determinants of dementia, neuroimaging markers of structural brain aging, and cognitive reserve. Li’s work spans epidemiological studies in aging populations, particularly in rural China, examining links between cardiovascular health, biomarkers, and cognitive decline.
Key areas include Alzheimer’s disease plasma biomarkers, cerebral small vessel disease, and the role of physical activity in mitigating dementia risks. She has published extensively in journals like Alzheimer's & Dementia, Neurobiology of Aging, and Stroke.
