Yu-Shan Wu is a Distinguished Research Fellow at the Institute of Political Science, Academia Sinica, and a Jointly Appointed Professor at the Political Science Department of National Taiwan University (NTU). He served as the Inaugural Director of the Institute from 2002 to 2015 and holds Chair Professorships at National Central University, National Tsinghua University, National Chengchi University, and National Sun Yat-sen University. His academic leadership includes roles as Convener of Political Science at the National Science Council (NSC), Secretary General of the Chinese Association of Political Science (CAPS), and President of CAPS.
- Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
Research Interests:
Yu-Shan Wu's work focuses on political and economic transitions in former socialist countries, democratic consolidation, constitutional engineering, and international relations. His regional expertise spans Taiwan, mainland China, Eastern Europe, and Russia, with recent contributions to the theorization of cross-Strait relations and interdisciplinary studies merging history and international relations.
