His research emphasizes the intersection of electoral systems, governance structures, and minority empowerment. He critiques institutional frameworks like multi-member districts with single nontransferable voting (SNTV) and explores the impacts of political performance evaluations on voter behavior. His work also examines divided government dynamics and the relationship between executive and legislative branches at national and local levels in Taiwan.
CHUNG-LI WU’s recent studies apply Western theories to analyze ethnic politics in Taiwan, particularly focusing on Hakka and Mainlander communities. He actively contributes to academic discussions on comparative democracy, cross-Strait relations, and political methodology through publications and lectures.
