Younès Chorfi serves as Full Professor and Vice-Dean of Graduate Studies and Research at the University of Montreal's Faculty of Veterinary Medicine within the Department of Veterinary Biomedicine. His academic appointments include membership in multiple research centers including CRIPA (Porcine and Avian Infectious Disease Research Centre), CRRF (Centre for Reproduction Research and Fertility), and GRESABO (Bovine Health Research Group).

Dr. Chorfi's research focuses on animal nutrition disorders and mycotoxin effects, particularly deoxynivalenol (DON) contamination in animal feed. His work examines DON's impact on animal reproduction, production performance, and immune function across multiple species including swine, poultry, and ruminants. He investigates nutritional interventions involving vitamins E and D, selenium, and yeast-based additives to mitigate mycotoxin effects and improve animal health.
As Vice-Dean of Research, Dr. Chorfi leads multiple federally and provincially funded projects through CRIPA, including studies on rumen ulcers in dairy calves, mycotoxin-vaccine interactions, and AI applications in veterinary medicine (Vetmétabo project). His research program integrates laboratory analysis with on-farm trials across Quebec's agricultural sector.
