Young Keun Kim

Young Keun Kim is a tenured full Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Korea University, Seoul. He holds leadership positions as President of the Korean Magnetics Society and Vice President of the Asian Union of Magnetics Societies, while serving on the IEEE Transactions on Magnetics Editorial Board.

His research focuses on spintronics, magnetic thin films, and nanomaterials for memory and biomedical applications. Notable work includes developing novel spintronic memory materials and leading national projects on magnetic recording heads, with significant contributions to HDD technology through Samsung-Toshiba collaborations and US NSIC projects.
