Pallavi Dhagat

Pallavi Dhagat is a Professor in the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Oregon State University, USA. She is an internationally recognized leader in magnetics research and has held numerous influential roles within the IEEE Magnetics Society, including President (2019–2020), Past-President (2020–2022), and currently serves as Associate Editor of IEEE Magnetics Letters.

Her research spans four major thrusts: (1) 3-D printed magnetic materials and devices, where advanced additive manufacturing techniques are employed to create complex magnetic geometries; (2) biomedical imaging and sensing leveraging functionalized magnetic nanoparticles for high-resolution diagnostics and targeted therapy; (3) data storage and signal processing exploiting the interaction of acoustic and spin waves to develop ultra-low-power memory and logic architectures; and (4) advanced metrology for characterizing next-generation magnetic materials with unprecedented precision.

In recognition of her sustained service, she received the IEEE Magnetics Society Distinguished Service Award in 2022. She has also chaired the global Conference on Magnetism and Magnetic Materials (MMM) and currently leads the society’s Women in Magnetism initiative.
